Best 308 battle rifle.

What is the best dang 308 battle rifle available to civilians? M1A? FAL? SCAR? AR-10? Anything else?

I figure if we are stuck with semi-auto we might as well make each shot count more.  :rocknroll2:

My vote goes to the AR10. They are very accurate and are as customizable as the AR15 to suit your needs. I have 2 Armalites and have really enjoyed shooting them over the years.

The top one is a Armalite Super SASS and the bottom is an AR10 carbine. Both with YHM suppressors.

Currently living a life less luxurious- Thanks Mr. President.

If you are into 308 and have the change, the SCAR looks super sweet

The M1A/M-14SA is the best looking of the bunch and as reliable as any of the others. My own choices would be M-14SA 1st and the FAL 2nd

I have an M1A NM and a Winchester M14.  Both are very accurate and fun to shoot, but a bit on the heavy side to tote all day long.  I also have an FAL (Imbel) and it's a lot of fun to shoot too.  The biggest drawback to the FAL is that the barrel gets pretty hot if you fire more than 1-2 rounds a minute thru it.  But it balances very well and is easy to aim and fire, pretty natural to aim.

I don't care about customizing either style gun.  They are extremely well made and other than optics I can't think of anything I'd add to either.  Nothing they really need.  How do you improve on perfection??   :rocknroll2:

I LOVE the M14, but unfortunately one isn't in the budget.
