Thanks for callin'.
I probably couldn't even afford to buy enough powder to fill 50 rounds for that hand canon these days.
Wasn't it around a 1/4 pound?

For SD/HD the 45acp...
For everything else the 44 magnum fills the bill

I fixed the poll. When we upgraded the forum software months ago, it cut off the 1st character of every poll option. I fixed as many as I could. But this is an older thread.

Anyway - fixed  :th_thicon_idea:

I have moved from 45ACP to 9mm due to arthritis.  .308 for deer, 45-70 for hogs, 12 Ga for squirrels.   George M.

My favorite gun of all time (Beretta 92FS) shoots the 9mm, and if I could only choose one gun and one caliber to have that's what it would be.  I currently carry the Px4 in .40 though, and I like it a lot.  But if I HAD TO CHOOSE, it would be the 9mm.

45 ACP is my favorite.  But I probably shoot more 9mm due to cost.  But I love to shoot my 1911s and they're all 45s.

Look for Remington UMC .45 Auto Jacketed Hollow Point, 100pk at your local Wal-Mart, that is the one that was available for $31.99 last time I got it after Swatguy mentioned finding it.
They don't list price on web site so check for it in stock at a nearby store and then call to see what their price is.

Remington ammo is horrible. I wouldn't buy it. Underpowered and inconsistently loaded from round to round. Also, a lot flashier out of the ejection port than other brands. And, I had getting sprayed by garbage out of the ejection port.

Never had a problem with Rem UMC myself, and for that kinda price I'll keep using it till I'm reloading my own.

For .45, sign up for weapons world's email blasts. Yesterday they had 1000 round Federal Champion going for $300. I ordered a case of 1000 off of GunBroker a little while back at $280 + shipping, came out a little under  0.31/rd.
