Cruisin' in the new car
« on: July 23, 2011, 07:06:53 PM »
I had a V6 2009 Vapor Gray mustang. I was only getting 20 MPG in the city and 21 on the highway. I'm spending $500-$600 a month on gas.

I traded in my 2009 mustang for a V6 2012 Mustang today.

This new transmission gives a V6 19 MPG in the city, and 31 MPG on the highway! Pretty damn awesome. It's got 100 extra horsepower over my 2009 V6 too.

And, I got such a deal on that 2009 - I drove it 2 years and 2 months. I put 43200 miles on it. I only lost $1000 on the car from my purchase price (before taxes). That was an awesome tradin. I paid $15,500 for that 2009, and I got $14500 on the trade in today. But, I had gotten $6k off the window sticker with specials and incentives when I bought it back in 2009...

Too bad they don't have those kinda deals on the new cars anymore. 2009 was a great time to buy a car...

Anyway, I got a pretty decent deal today...

Here is the new ride:

I love it bro! That new V6 is fast as hell, my brother got a ford taurus and it has that engine and it is FAST!

I think the new v6 beats the v8s of the past.

Cool car bro!

Thanks. I think I like it better than my other one I had :)

I didn't think we could make a deal, so I started looking at the 2 cars again that I almost got before I got the first Mustang...

Nissan Rogue and a Toyota Rav 4.

I like toyota durability (I have a Toyota Matrix too). But, the RAV4 has less pickup than the Rogue. And, the stereo in the RAV4 gave me a headache, no matter how I adjusted it (too high pitch treble orientated)...

I really didn't want either over the Mustang - so I called the guy again while still at the Toyota place, and we worked something out. But, itw as 7pm by that point. So, I had tow ait until this morning to go there.

I don't think I'd ever buy the RAV4. The Nissan Rogue is the better car, IMHO... But the Mustang trumps both  :th_thicon_lol:

Excellent choice.

The old 4.0 v6 was a total dog and a joke. The 4.6 V8 got better mileage.  :bangheadonwall:

However the new 3.7 is way better in every category. I've been considering replacing my work vehicle with a second mustang (I have a 2010 GT) and I'm looking hard at the v-6 models.

If your car is anything like mine, and most Fords these days, your fuel mileage will be a bit underrated. I can consistently hit 25-27 mpg in my GT despite the sticker saying 22-24 mpg.
