Texas Gun Trader - what's up with the website?
« on: April 04, 2012, 10:53:45 AM »
Noticed that the site been down most of this week.  Seems strange for just a server update.  Any scoop on when it'll be back up and running?

On AR15.com, it was stated that they are doing an update, and that a past update took some time. So, if that is right, it may be gone a little while. Personally, that is all I know

Looks like they changed their DNS servers and they are currently not working.

it's really dissapointing because this is the second time in the last few months. I've posted a gun for sale but won't get any responses if it's down.

They are back up now but you may not see it yet due to cached DNS.
You can clear it on Windows Vista/7 with:

  1.  Click the start button and navigate to the command prompt (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt)
  2.  Make sure that you right click on the command prompt application and choose "Run as Administrator"
  3.  Type in the command "ipconfig /flushdns"

 choose "Run as Administrator"

Just wanted to note that if you are able to do this without having to input a password, then so can hackers, virii, malware, trojans, and botnet recruiters. This is reason #1 why Windoze is so vulnerable, people never password protect admin accounts(if they even make a separate one), and typically give user accounts full admin privileges.

Tried it last night/morning, came up but would only show one page. Couldn't go to any other pages.
