I shot Fixer's SR9 before - I really did not care for the gun. I'd try to find one to rent or shoot on a range before you decide.

I've been thinking about another carry side arm.  Currently I use a Taurus TCP but have been looking at an SR9C ... anyone compared the Ruger to the Shield?  I like the SR9C because it's so thin.

The SR9 I had a bad striker assembly right from the box. However it was quickly repaired and it was a very reliable gun.

I ended up selling it because I eventually grew a rather large disdain for the trigger. The mushy nature with no clear reset point drove be crazy.

Ruger perhaps has improved trigger since I got mine in 2010.

I have a full size M&P and the trigger on it is a vast improvement over the Ruger SR series.

If I was looking to save some pennies on a carry pistol, I'd strongly suggest looking into the m&p.

Man, I am seriously getting sick of waiting in my quest for a 2nd 9mm Shield.

Called Independance Firearms... JUST missed one. And, none have come in recently to the two shops I'm on a waiting list for...

Patience Shipwreck, just think about those poor souls that can't find their first M&P Shield.

Well, if you would just buy used, problem solved. Its a brand new gun, its not going to be messed up or anything wrong with it. Thats why you put a thousand rounds through it.

Well, you don't really see any used ones around, really.

And, old habits die hard. I've just never been a used gun guy.

I suppose if I saw a barely used one for a deal, I'd get it. But just $20 off isn't worth buying used. And, some guys paid $450 for it, so they'll want more.. I can get a new one for $390-$395... WHENEVER I can actually get it

Funny...I got the hankering to get one myself. Called an Academy out here and the front desk person... not even the gun counter... said they are getting 3-5 calls an hour for the shield.

I have the old MP 40 cal that I carry. I just took it to the gun shop to have the trigger reworked other than that I think its a great weapon.

I really enjoy this pistol. got mine in .40 a few weeks ago, and have already put about 250+ round through it. shoots great, really slim and compact. I was surprised with the trigger, as I wasn't impressed with my buddy's M&P in 9mm. perfect for a backup to my 1911.

Well, I put some more rounds thru my first one earlier this week. I have 1900 rounds thru the paid now (total).

That's since I got the first one on April 30. Gonna go back to just Berettas on the next couple of gun trips, as I miss shooting them. And, as these are my current carry guns, I just wanted to get a good feel for them - hence all those rounds so quickly.

I bought my Shield 40 at Carters Country a few weeks back.  They had 9s and 40s in Stafford and Pasadena.  It was $449 but I got it on the 12 months 0% sale.  Now just have to find the perfect SD round for it.

I find that critical defense is the most accurate defense round out of the ones I have tried. Directly where ya want it.

I have that in one Shield. The other has 124 gr Gold dot, because I couldn't find enough critical defense locally.
