Independence and lawman ammo
« on: August 10, 2012, 10:10:33 AM »
I was looking around ammotogo.com and came across these two brands of ammo that I had never heard of before.  Has anyway ever shot these or heard of these before?  The independence ammo is pretty dirt cheap so it kind of has me wondering.

Speer Lawman is all I shoot in my handguns. I carry Speer Gold Dots and the Lawman line is design to perform identical to it so that those who carry Gold Dot can train cheaper with Lawman.

I've shot LOTS of it and never had a failure of any kind. The Independence I've never heard of.

Thanks Jeb.  That is good to know.  I had read on the box what you had said about it feeling like you were shooting their premium stuff.  That is really good!  So many people don't practice with their duty or carry ammo because its so much more expensive to shoot.  I will definitely be looking into them.

Independence through this picky gun:

Jared I think you just convinced me that the Independence ammo works and that it works through an automatic!  I think that says a lot about the ammo.  Ammotogo.com has them for a really good price.  I might look into them further.

I've used Independence in 9mm and it was fine.

Independence ammo is just CCI centerfire ammo. It is CCI's version of winchester white box.

I have used it for years in my 92fs and my 1911s without issue

Blazer aluminum case is the cheapest. IIRC independence was their brass cased ammo line, then they came out with Blazer Brass but they never discontinued the independence line for some reason.

It's all from the ATK parent company though and works decent.

Aguila ammo is selling for pretty cheap right now, at SGammo.com and ammotogo.com. I just ordered a case of 9mm from ammotogo.com for $200 + tax + shipping.
